Het telefoontje

The call

I got a call last year. It was T. She asked if I could also teach pottery. I had just started working on my new website. To sell more of my ceramics. That's where she found me. "Everything is already full in Zwolle," she said. "Do you also do spinning lessons"?

"I don't know, I've never done it" was my answer. Otherwise, just drop by to try.

Now it's a party every week. We're going to play, laugh and try new things.

I didn't know it about myself, but I like teaching! The basic course started in De Spil in January. I give a workshop at primary school. Nice people are now coming to my studio who are all enthusiastic about clay. I am surprised by children who don't make a mug, but a beer mug or Michiel de Ruyter.

I can tell about scratches and slippage, about air in clay, about drying and cracking. Delicious.

Thank you T. for that crazy unexpected phone call.

Dag Leonie,
