Art festival Wondergronds
Wondergronds is a new Art Festival in Norg (Drenthe). And different from the rest! From 21 June to 12 July, Het Kunsterf in Norg will be all about the Wondergronds art festival. A unique festival where 16 artists from the North have been inspired by the mycelium.
The exhibition, both inside and outside, shows a palette of visual artists: such as painters, ceramists, a glass artist, photographers, a poet. With their work they build a bridge between the world of art and that of the fungus kingdom. They want to make it clear that what lives under our feet must be protected and that can only be done through awareness.
My contribution to this festival consists of a group of sculptures in the outdoor area and a number of works indoors.
Title: Growths
Large white shapes sprout from the earth. Nature is not linear. Everything happens at the same time. It may seem chaotic but everything is connected. There are also invisible connections underground. A conversation is going on.
The different images can be seen as independent sculptures, but together they form an installation that you can walk through or sit down for a while. The ceramic forms have sprung from the ground, but what is happening down there.
